Between Black History Month and everything going on in American today, it seems like an excellent time to celebrate and honor the rich diversity of experience and cultural perspectives that make up this patchwork nation. That’s just what Bay Area Theatre Company is doing in its ambitious show “I, Too, Sing America,” playing San Francisco’s Brava Theater Center after a sold-out run last summer. Conceived and with musical settings by Othello Jefferson, it’s a rich collage of poetry, music and movement incorporating poetic works by authors of color such as Langston Hughes and Beyonce, Jean Toomer and Frances Chung, Gwendolyn Brooks and Alice Walker.
