The sixth annual fundraising dinner on Aug. 23 will feature a menu crafted by Chef Affie Mahini, who opened downtown San Jose’s Cafe Pomegranate in 2003. The meal will focus on fresh and local ingredients, many of them picked right there at the farm where everyone will be eating. On top of that, there’ll be live music, hay rides and an old-fashioned barn dance at the end of the night. But what visitors should make sure they don’t miss is a tour of the farm itself, including its youth garden, the hen house and a metal dome frame covered with plants inside and out. It’s amazing how it’s grown since its start in 2008.
